Southend Airport
In 2015, Southend Borough Council began to make plans to turn what had simply been a green field at the back of Southend Airport, into a flourishing business park consisting of purpose built offices and warehouses totalling over 1 million square feet.
The Brief
Due to our long-standing relationship with Savills, one of the world’s leading commercial property agents, we were honoured to be brought on board in 2018 to initially act as consultants in the design of a full security infrastructure spread across the 52 acre site consisting of:
- Monitored analytic CCTV
- ANPR
- Automated Swing Gates
- Automated Barriers
- Networked Access Control
- Fibre Network
In 2020 Century Fire & Security Ltd were appointed as the contractor to carry out the formal design, supply and installation of these elements, working for Readie Construction Ltd.

Our Fibre Network, CCTV Transmission /Recording devices and our Access Control Server all fed back into a purpose built GRP Cabinet
Heavy Duty specialist external cabinets were installed around the perimeter of the site to house our Fibre-Optic Network Switches
Our 4K Analytic IP CCTV Cameras with IP Audio Speakers were installed on perimeter lighting columns
HIAB Delivery of our custom made 100% Duty Cycle swing gates
Our two sets of swing gates installed
